Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Receptionist to work as part of the Critical Care Multi-Disciplinary Team, providing intensive and high-dependency care to patients across both South Tyneside and Sunderland sites.

Main Responsibilities
  • To provide a high-quality reception service and care to relatives attending the Critical Care units.
  • To support the Critical Care team in undertaking all administrative duties required by the clinical team on either Sunderland or South Tyneside site.
  • Responsible for receiving, assisting and directing relatives/carers/other healthcare professionals in accessing the Unit in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
  • Provide general assistance to the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and project a positive and friendly image to relatives and other visitors, either in person or via communication.
  • To comply with the Trust's vision, values and behavioural compact.

Requirements
  • Proven prior customer services experience.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Basic skills of empathy and reassurance.
  • Good keyboard skills and ability to use email system and document clearly.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety requirements in a patient environment.
  • General understanding of confidentiality requirements in a healthcare setting.
