Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical / Counselling / Forensic Psychologist to join our community Forensic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (FCAMHS) team on a part-time basis.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing specialist psychological assessments and interventions to children and young people with complex mental health needs. The postholder will work closely with other professionals to ensure integrated care provision across health, social care, education, and youth justice.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist psychological assessments for children and young people with highly complex presentations, using a range of assessment tools and techniques.
- Develop and implement psychologically informed formulations, consultation, and advice to support the care planning process.
- Exercise autonomous clinical responsibility for implementing a range of psychological interventions, adjusting and reformulating as necessary.
- Complete specialist structured risk assessments, drawing on highly specialist knowledge of forensic factors.
- Supervise the delivery of psychological interventions as part of multi-disciplinary care planning.
- Communicate highly confidential and personal information to relevant stakeholders, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people.
- Be active in risk assessment and complex risk management, ensuring the safety of children and young people who may be at risk to themselves or others.
- Produce clinical and forensic reports in a timely manner, conveying complex analysis and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Support safe and effective transitions between community and custodial/welfare secure settings, ensuring coordinated services are available.
- Advocate and challenge on behalf of children and young people and their families/carers to ensure access to appropriate support and services.
