We are seeking an experienced and skilled Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at TLA Group. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to our locality older people's therapy service.

About the Role:

As a Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, you will be responsible for the systematic provision of high-quality evidence-based psychological, psychosocial, and occupational therapies for older people. You will take a key leadership role in the locality mental health service, working closely with the Area Mental Health Manager and other senior clinicians to ensure seamless care for older people with mental health problems and those with physical health problems and associated psychological needs.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the systematic provision of supervision and guidance for staff within the service, including clinical psychologists, psychological therapists, occupational therapists, trainee clinical psychologists, trainee cognitive behavioural therapists, and mental health practitioners. You will work alongside neighbourhood team Advanced Practitioners to triage referrals arriving into Mental Health services from external and internal sources.

The post's budgetary or management responsibilities include the appropriate use of the Trust's resources and the day-to-day management of mental health practitioners under the advice and guidance of the Area Mental Health Lead and the Consultant Clinical Psychologist for Older People.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership to the locality older people's therapy service
  • Take a key leadership role in the locality mental health service
  • Ensure the systematic provision of supervision and guidance for staff within the service
  • Work alongside neighbourhood team Advanced Practitioners to triage referrals
  • Manage mental health practitioners under the advice and guidance of the Area Mental Health Lead and the Consultant Clinical Psychologist for Older People
Requirements:

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist who has a strong background in clinical leadership and a passion for delivering high-quality mental health services. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including staff, patients, and external partners.

You will also have a strong understanding of the mental health needs of older people and the ability to develop and implement effective strategies to meet these needs. You will be a strong leader who can inspire and motivate a team to deliver high-quality services.
