About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Clinical Dispenser to join our Primary Care Careers team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary practice team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dispensary.

Main Responsibilities

  • Process prescriptions and repeat prescriptions in accordance with the good practice principles of the Dispensing Services Quality Scheme.
  • Ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription and verify the appropriateness of items with the authorising doctor or duty doctor, whenever necessary.
  • Collect prescription charges and ensure patients' FP10 declarations are completed and signed.
  • Process Hospital Letters and Dossett Boxes.
  • Manage stock ordering and control.
  • Answer dispensary phone enquiries and monitor patients' exemption status.
  • Sort and dispose of unwanted/returned medication.
  • Perform other duties to assist in the day-to-day operation of the dispensary and surgery, as directed by the dispensary manager or practice manager.
