Job Title: Maintenance Planning Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Planning Engineer to join our team at Finning International. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for ensuring the refurbishment of Caterpillar products meets Finning standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake detailed inspections of machines to confirm or expand on initial field inspection reports.
  • Carry out standard diagnosis tests on machine components to enable accurate cost evaluations or issue condition and warranty agreements to customers.
  • Produce comprehensive lists of parts and materials required for proposed machine preparation work.
  • Undertake overhaul, repair, or refurbishment work on machines to agreed work plans, removing and dispatching components for specialist attention.
  • Inspect and test completed machines to ensure they operate to expected performance levels.
Requirements:
  • Flexibility, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, work accuracy, numeracy, and quality orientation.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in plant machinery or similar industries (e.g. HGV, agriculture).
  • Either apprentice-trained or minimum 5 years' experience in a quality service environment within a similar industry.
  • Licence to drive reach trucks.
  • Practical experience in operating construction equipment in confined spaces and mechanical fitting work on large-scale machines.
