Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Climate and Sustainability Risk Officer to lead our efforts in identifying, assessing, and managing climate-related risks across our organization. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of climate risk management, sustainability, and risk governance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the climate and sustainability risk team, providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure effective management of climate-related risks.
- Develop and implement strategies to address climate-related risks and opportunities, working closely with key stakeholders across the organization.
- Provide governance and oversight, taking a company-wide perspective to ensure that climate risk management is integrated into our overall risk management framework.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Chief Risk Officer, to ensure that climate risk management is aligned with our overall business objectives.
- Design and implement a sustainability risk program, including the development of policies, procedures, and governance structures to manage climate-related risks effectively.
- Develop and maintain a broad climate risk database to support international disclosure requirements and stakeholder inquiries.
- Provide advice and challenge to the Climate and Sustainability programs across the Enterprise, ensuring that climate risk management is integrated into our overall risk management framework.
- Lead and advise others on climate risk-related engagement with global regulators, ensuring that our organization is compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
- Establish key climate risk metrics and impacts that will influence strategic decision-making, ensuring that our organization is prepared for business continuity events and operational resiliency.
- In-depth knowledge of climate risk regulatory environment and ability to provide long-term strategic planning.
- Leadership and organizational skills to direct the activities of the governance bodies overseeing climate risk.
- Thorough knowledge of corporate, industry, and business unit activities, compliance-related requirements, and risk mitigation techniques.
- Analytical and communication skills to review and approve policies and procedures, and to work with line areas to oversee and manage risk activities.
- College or university degree and/or relevant proven work experience in Risk Management is preferred. Direct understanding of, and experience with climate risk management is strongly preferred.
