Job Title: Clinical Research Midwife - Band 6

We are seeking an experienced and passionate midwife to join our dynamic Core Birth Centre Team as a Clinical Research Midwife - Band 6. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality holistic care to women, birthing people, and their families, while also contributing to the development of clinical governance initiatives and participating in research projects.

Main Duties:
  • Provide comprehensive midwifery care in a variety of settings, including the alongside midwifery-led unit.
  • Engage with women, birthing people, and their families to encourage and promote physiological birth, person-centred care, and advocate for their choices.
  • Supervise healthcare support workers, student midwives, and junior qualified staff.
  • Participate in regular meetings of ward/unit staff and attend as a representative at other meetings.
Requirements:
  • Midwife currently registered to practice.
  • NIPE course.
  • NLS training.
  • Aromatherapy training.
  • Hypnobirthing training.
  • Any other course supporting physiological birth.
Experience:
  • Experience of working in all areas of maternity services, particularly birthing areas.
  • Experience mentoring students.
  • Participation in audit.
Skills:
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels, verbally and in writing.
  • Able to function as a practitioner, as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Have an interest in and the ability to teach students.
  • Able to organise, lead, and act for the lead midwife in their absence.
