Job Overview:
Hays Specialist Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Public Sector Accountant to join our client's team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for managing internal and external budgets, preparing financial reports, and providing analytical support to business areas.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

About the Role:
This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. The role involves working closely with the finance team to manage internal and external budgets, prepare financial reports, and provide analytical support to business areas. You will also be responsible for drafting and maintaining guidance on business case production, supporting business areas in the production of business cases, and providing training to key staff.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a fully qualified accountant (or going to be within 6 months) with a strong background in accounting and finance. You will also have experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, you should have at least one year's experience within the last 3 years in financial accounts management, management accounts, accounting information systems, or a related field. Public sector experience is desirable but not essential.
