Role Overview

Kent County Council is actively seeking a skilled Community Development Worker to join multiple districts across Kent.

This is an exciting opportunity to help build and expand services for children, young people, and families from 0-19 (25 years for SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and strengthen local Family Hub networks with partners and community organisations.
  • Enhance community engagement and co-design initiatives to inform Family Hub services.
  • Expand volunteer opportunities to empower parents, carers, and young people in peer-to-peer groups and activities.

We value skills that foster community empowerment, address inequalities, and encourage active participation.

This role requires high organisational skills, effective communication with children and families, and the ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate engagement opportunities.

The Community Development Worker role is a permanent, full-time position with hybrid working available.

This post is considered customer-facing, and the Council has a statutory duty to ensure the post holder has sufficient spoken English/Welsh for the job requirements.
