About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our team at HMP Leicester, a Category B men's Local prison located in the centre of Leicester.

This is a full-time position, offering an annual salary up to £46,200 per annum, depending on experience. Our bespoke induction program includes our Introducing Health in Justice training course, and we offer a competency framework, regional and national career development opportunities, and a bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needs.

Candidates must have a legal right to work in the UK and be subject to additional vetting and security checks due to the nature of the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions, assessing patients' health needs using an evidence-based framework and risk assessing using sound clinical knowledge.
  • Ensure the physical and mental health of prisoners on admission to the prison and throughout their period of custody, making clinical judgments regarding immediate needs and long-term treatment.
