We are seeking a qualified and experienced SEMH Teacher to join our team at Protocol Education. As a SEMH Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students who exhibit a range of behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.
Key Responsibilities- Build strong, positive relationships with students who may have experienced trauma or difficulties in mainstream education.
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that support both academic and emotional development.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including mental health professionals, teaching assistants, and external agencies, to provide tailored support.
- Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour, fostering a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with students who have SEMH needs, or in a similar setting.
- A positive, resilient attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A deep understanding of the impact of trauma and adverse childhood experiences on behaviour and learning.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a passion for helping students succeed both academically and personally.
- A supportive environment with ongoing training, CPD, and a strong team committed to the well-being of staff.
