Job Title: SEMH Teacher Position

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH teacher to join our team at The Education Network Birmingham. As a SEMH teacher, you will be responsible for teaching small classes of Key Stage 3 & 4 students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach small classes of Key Stage 3 & 4 students with Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs
  • Work in a Pupil Referral Unit or similar setting
  • Provide excellent support to students with challenging attitudes towards learning
  • Help students make progress and achieve their full potential
  • Work collaboratively with the leadership team and teaching assistants to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • QTS Teacher qualification
  • Core subject specialist – ideally Maths, English or Science
  • Able to show capacity to work in other areas of the Curriculum
  • Happy to work in an Alternative Provision
  • Used to working with children and young adults with challenging attitudes towards learning
  • Confident communicator who can differentiate and adapt to the needs of each student
