Civils CAD Technician

We are seeking a skilled Civils CAD Technician to work on a wide variety of civils projects. As part of a team, you will take concept designs through to detailed manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD Software and other software platforms.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare, produce, develop, and amend drawings in accordance with appropriate standards and procedures, meeting agreed timescales and deadlines.
  2. Draw and develop site layouts, GA drawings, steel structure drawings, block diagrams, single line diagrams, cable routing and wiring diagrams, assembly and part drawings, and associated schedules.
  3. Provide technical support to on-site technicians.
  4. Revise drawings and red-line markups appropriately.
  5. Liaise and communicate effectively with stakeholders, across various teams and discipline groups, on multiple projects.
  6. Streamline and automate drawing and engineering processes, proposing improvement ideas.
  7. Attend occasional site surveys.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • HNC/HND/BTec in Engineering (Civils).
  • Experience in reinforced concrete detailing.
  • Knowledge of surveying techniques and handling site survey data.
  • Proficiency in 3D scanner technology and cloud point manipulation.
  • Understanding of HV/LV distribution systems and electrical building systems.
  • Experience in Security, Access Control, and CCTV & Alarm Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles.
  • At least 5 years' experience in AutoCAD / AutoCAD Civil 3D/ MicroStation.
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling software (Autodesk Revit preferred).
  • Ability to produce intelligent library blocks with attributes for data extraction.
  • Experience in CAD data file management and drawing management procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail, working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competent Microsoft Office user.
  • Full Driving License.
Requirements:

This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for this position.

Salary:

The salary for this role is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
