We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Locum Specialist Registrar in Psychiatry to join our dynamic team at Locum Meds. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients within our trust.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of patients referred to the service, including gathering relevant medical, psychiatric, and psychosocial histories.
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses based on assessment findings and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based treatment interventions, including pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and other modalities, tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Monitor and review patients' progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes and ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in ward rounds, case conferences, and other team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment strategies, and discharge planning.
  • Supervise junior medical staff, including Foundation Year doctors and Core Psychiatry Trainees, providing guidance and support in the delivery of patient care.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities to maintain and enhance clinical knowledge and skills in various subspecialties of psychiatry.
  • Contribute to clinical governance initiatives, including audit, research, and quality improvement projects, to promote excellence in patient care and service delivery.
  • Adhere to trust policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, professional standards, and ethical principles.
  • Foster a collaborative and respectful working environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork among colleagues and other healthcare professionals.

Pay: £69.17-£90.00 per hour

Expected Hours: 45 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
