Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Clinical Coding Analyst to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our clinical coding department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our clinical data.

Main Responsibilities
  • Code clinical data with precision and attention to detail, adhering to national rules and conventions.
  • Mentor and support less experienced clinical coding analysts to ensure seamless workflow and high-quality output.
  • Liaise with the Clinical Coding Manager to confirm accurate diagnostic and procedure codes, even in cases of unclear national guidance.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of the clinical coding process, identifying opportunities for service improvement and data quality enhancement.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of data protection, patient confidentiality, and the importance of accurate coding for reimbursement and resource allocation.
Requirements
  • Accredited Clinical Coding (ACC) Qualification or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in clinical coding, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as a strong understanding of PbR and HRGs.
  • Proficiency in using Medicode and electronic patient records (EPIC).
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and influence other healthcare professionals.
