Job Title: Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our team at FedEx Group. As a key member of our Engineering Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet of vehicles and trailers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy goods vehicles and trailers to ensure they are safe, legal, and fit for duty.
  2. Conduct thorough inspections and diagnose defects, completing defect reports and associated paperwork as required.
  3. Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing, ensuring a first-time pass.
  4. Investigate and rectify vehicle defects, using a range of tools and equipment.
  5. Ensure the safe use of all tools, plant, and ancillary equipment, maintaining good housekeeping standards.
Requirements:
  1. Fully skilled with applicable licenses and vocational training (e.g., LGV C&E license, class one).
  2. City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
  3. Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting equipment.
  4. Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills.
  5. Valid driving license.
