Job Title: Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our team at FedEx Group. As a key member of our Engineering Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet of vehicles and trailers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy goods vehicles and trailers to ensure they are safe, legal, and fit for duty.
  2. Conduct thorough inspections and complete service records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Investigate and rectify vehicle defects, and prepare vehicles for annual MOT testing.
  4. Ensure the safe and effective use of tools, plant, and equipment.
  5. Maintain good housekeeping standards and perform other duties as required by management.
Requirements:
  1. Fully skilled with applicable licenses and vocational training (e.g., LGV C&E license).
  2. City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
  3. Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting equipment.
  4. Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills.
  5. Valid driving license.
