Job Title: Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our team at FedEx Group. As a key member of our Engineering Team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and reliability of our fleet of vehicles and trailers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy goods vehicles and trailers to ensure they are safe, legal, and fit for duty.
  2. Complete service and inspection records, defect reports, and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements.
  3. Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to ensure a first-time pass.
  4. Investigate and rectify vehicle defects, ensuring the correct and effective safe use of all tools, plant, and ancillary equipment.
  5. Maintain good housekeeping standards and carry out any other duties deemed reasonable by Management.
Requirements:
  1. Fully skilled with applicable Licenses / Vocational Training (e.g., LGV C&E licence (class one)).
  2. City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
  3. Knowledge of the use and operation of all automotive equipment and testing / troubleshooting equipment.
  4. Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills.
  5. Must possess a valid driving license.
