About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our North Waste Team at Buckinghamshire Council. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of our domestic and commercial waste collection services across North Buckinghamshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of waste collection services to 92,000 households, ensuring compliance with statutory and non-statutory requirements.
  • Manage a team of 127 frontline operatives, including direct line management of approximately 28 staff.
  • Design and deliver bespoke training to crew members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, producing high-level reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Build relationships with senior management and teams across the Council, attending meetings to provide subject matter direction and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Full driving license and ability to work a shift pattern, including early and duty shifts.
  • Flexibility to work out of hours, including one Saturday in every four.
  • Desirable qualifications include a Level 4 Waste Management Certificate of Technical Competence and NEBOSH certification.
