Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Development Chef to join our Food Development team at Brakes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing meaningful relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to drive innovation and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop close working relationships with customers' food development teams to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including range, sales, procurement, and technical teams, to deliver innovative solutions and support customer menu development.
  • Take an active role in new product development, creating recipes, managing customer expectations, and tracking progress.
  • Plan, prepare, and present customer food days, ensuring they meet briefs and customer expectations.
  • Provide food and industry expertise to colleagues, supporting their growth and development.

Requirements

  • Excellent culinary skills and commercial knowledge.
  • A passion for fresh produce and ingredients.
  • Ability to adapt to and adopt various culinary styles and cuisines.
  • Enthusiastic and flexible, with a can-do attitude.
  • Strong relationship builder and team player.
  • Influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a resourceful approach.
  • Good knowledge of the foodservice industry, including brands, operators, and influencers.
  • Previous experience of presenting to large audiences.
  • Full UK driver's license.
