Job Title: Overhead Crane Engineer

Join GAP Group Ltd. as an Overhead Crane Engineer and take on a challenging role that requires technical expertise and attention to detail. As a key member of our TIC team, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of overhead cranes and working at height equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test overhead cranes and working at height equipment to ensure compliance with LOLER and PUWER regulations.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on overhead cranes and working at height equipment.
  • Conduct proof load testing of equipment such as runway beams, davit sockets, swing jibs, and lift shaft eyes.
  • Produce detailed reports and certification for equipment, including failed items.
  • Carry out site surveys and advise customers on the correct selection and use of lifting equipment.
  • Support the lifting depot network by maintaining the hire fleet, upskilling team members, and providing bespoke solutions to lifting-based queries.
Requirements:
  • Experience working as a Crane Engineer/Lifting Engineer/Fitter/Hoists.
  • Competent in the inspection of lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER / PUWER.
  • LEEA Qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and assist other team members when required.
  • A customer-focussed approach to workload and strong attention to detail.
  • Valid driving licence is essential.
