Safeguarding Specialist

Dovetail and Slate Ltd is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the education provider's safeguarding team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle safeguarding and welfare enquiries, ensuring they meet guidelines.
  • Support high-needs students, including ESOL learners, young parents, and vulnerable adults, to help them stay in their courses.
  • Provide immediate support to ensure young people and vulnerable adults are safe.
  • Follow up on safeguarding incidents according to legal requirements.
  • Work with other teams to ensure smooth transitions and ongoing support for high-needs students.
  • Maintain up-to-date electronic records, and collaborate with parents, staff, and external agencies as needed.
  • Help manage a caseload of students, assess risks, and coordinate interventions or referrals when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Able to start ASAP
  • Safeguarding experience
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with vulnerable people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Right to work in the UK
