About the Role

The Adult Safeguarding Practitioner will provide essential support to the safeguarding adult's team at Homerton Healthcare, ensuring the Trust meets its statutory duties to safeguard adults at risk.

The post holder will work alongside the Head of Safeguarding Adults to develop and implement the Trust's Safeguarding Adults Agenda in accordance with local and national guidance and legislation.

The Adult Safeguarding Practitioner will provide specialised advice and guidance to ensure standards of excellence are maintained in Safeguarding Adults, Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

The post holder will support the implementation, maintenance and further development of effective and efficient systems for the prevention, surveillance and investigation of Safeguarding Adults concerns for the Trust.

Main Responsibilities

The Adult Safeguarding Practitioner will:

  • Identify learning needs for multidisciplinary teams in Homerton Hospital and develop and deliver training packages as necessary.
  • Provide safeguarding adults supervision to staff within the trust.
  • Provide advice and support to all staff groups, with particular focus on hospital staff, dealing with safeguarding adult issues.
  • Support staff with complex Safeguarding cases and produce action plans and monitor where required.
  • Undertake safeguarding related investigations as required.
