Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Highway Transport Operator to join our team at DPD Group UK.

About the Role:

As a Highway Transport Operator, you will be responsible for operating large goods vehicles on an agreed shift pattern, delivering pallet loads to HGV-friendly locations nationwide. You will work closely with our logistics team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods, prioritising efficiency and safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct overnight driving, utilising secure DPD locations for rest periods, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and company policies.
  • Operate within a designated region surrounding your base depot, maintaining a high standard of professionalism in all interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Properly secure and manage cargo during transit to prevent damage or loss, completing all required documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle, adhering to health and safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Effectively manage your driving hours, adhering to UK regulations and company policies, while demonstrating DPD's core values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Hard Work, and Accountability.

Requirements:

  1. A valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence is essential, demonstrating competence in operating large goods vehicles.
  2. A minimum of 12 months of verifiable Class 1 driving experience is mandatory, ensuring a proven track record of safely and efficiently operating large goods vehicles.
  3. A valid UK Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card is required, certifying professional competence and ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards in the logistics industry.
  4. A current UK Digital Tachograph Card is necessary for accurately recording driving hours and ensuring compliance with UK regulations governing commercial vehicle operations.
