Research Scientist

The Department of Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge is a leading research institution in the field of structural biology. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate to join our Cryo-Electron Microscopy (Cryo-EM) Facility team.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct cutting-edge research in structural biology using Cryo-EM techniques
- Operate and maintain Cryo-EM equipment, including the Talos Arctica 200 kV and Titan Krios 300 kV electron microscopes
- Prepare cryo-EM grids and assist with data processing and analysis
- Collaborate with diverse research groups within the Department and across the School of the Biological Sciences
- Coordinate the use of instrumentation and expand and improve the cryo-em imaging technology within the facility
- PhD/doctoral level degree in Structural Biology, Electron Microscopy, or a related field
- Strong experience and practical knowledge in preparing cryo-em grids and operating cryo-electron microscopes for single particle and tomography data collection and analysis
- Previous experience working in a multiuser research facility is advantageous
