We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Professor of Clinical Trials and Methodology to join our team at the University of Glasgow. As a key member of our Centre for Excellence in Trials Collaboration, you will play a senior leadership role in the development of our reputation as a centre of excellence in clinical trial methodology.
Main Responsibilities:- Lead strategic research initiatives in clinical trials and methodology, collaborating with the Glasgow Clinical Trials Units.
- Provide academic leadership in research and publication, enhancing the University's international clinical trial and methodology profile.
- Sustain high-quality research activity, securing funding for a portfolio of research projects.
- Take a leading role in strategic learning and teaching initiatives, contributing to the University's academic management and leadership.
- Supervise research projects, postgraduate and undergraduate students, and make a substantial contribution to University Committees/Working Groups.
- Represent the University on key external bodies, engaging in continuing professional development activities.
- Contribute to the enhancement of the University's international profile.
- PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Statistics, clinical trials, or equivalent.
- Extensive knowledge of clinical trials and related methodology, Good Clinical Practice, and legal and regulatory requirements.
- Established reputation for high-quality research, thorough understanding of academic leadership and management, and engagement with University strategies.
- Track record of funded research/publications in clinical trial methodology, research leadership, and applied statistical analysis or related clinical trials methodology application.
- Research leadership, project management, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent teaching and learning activities delivery and leadership.
- Outstanding track record of research clinical trial funding income, maintaining a portfolio of research activity of international quality.
- Leadership experience for a portfolio of research activity, commitment to supporting the career development of colleagues, and established track record of leading and delivering high-quality University teaching.
