Job Purpose

To take a senior leadership role in clinical trials within the University of Glasgow, based in the University of Glasgow's Centre for Excellence in Trials Collaboration (CETC) in partnership with the Glasgow Clinical Trials Units (CTUs).

This position involves leading a team of researchers and clinicians to develop and implement clinical trials, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and advancing medical knowledge.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of research and leadership experience in clinical trials, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team and contribute to the advancement of clinical trials research.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Lead the development of clinical trials protocols and study designs, in collaboration with clinicians and researchers.

  2. Oversee the conduct of clinical trials, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.

  3. Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to develop and implement new clinical trials methodologies and technologies.

  4. Supervise and mentor junior researchers and clinicians, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.

  5. Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant applications, securing funding for clinical trials research.

  6. Represent the University of Glasgow at national and international conferences, presenting research findings and contributing to the advancement of clinical trials research.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field, such as clinical trials, statistics, or epidemiology.

  • Extensive experience in clinical trials research, including leadership and management roles.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinicians, researchers, and other stakeholders.

  • Strong track record of research funding and publication, with a focus on clinical trials research.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
