Job Summary
We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team at Disability North, providing support and care for an individual with Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and Global Developmental Delay.
About the Role
This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life. As a Support Worker, you will provide 1:1 support to the individual, enabling them to participate in activities of their choice, such as going to the cinema or park.
The successful candidate must be able to use their own vehicle, as they will need to transport the individual to these activities, with mileage paid accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support to the individual, enabling them to participate in activities of their choice
- Transport the individual to activities using your own vehicle, with mileage paid
- Administer medication as required
- Maintain accurate records of the individual's needs and activities
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A non-judgmental approach to supporting individuals with complex needs
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £13.50 per hour, which is in line with industry standards for Support Workers in the North East region.
