Pupil Support Assistant Role Overview
The Pupil Support Assistant will play a vital role in supporting staff in managing students with challenging behaviour, while maintaining high standards and adhering to school routines. Key responsibilities include supervising the seclusion room, including break and lunch times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to students on issues such as behaviour, engagement, and attendance.
- Effective communication with pupils, staff, and parents is crucial for ensuring comprehensive pastoral support for all students.
- Collaborate with the pastoral team to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for students.
Requirements:
- A confident and patient individual with competent behaviour management skills.
- Previous experience working with young people facing barriers to learning is advantageous.
- A good sense of humour and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team are essential.
