About the Role

We are seeking a kind and caring Support Worker to join our client s support package to provide support in their own home.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a calm, patient, and kind nature, with excellent communication skills. You should be an excellent communicator with good verbal skills as our client does not have verbal speech and instead communicates through facial expressions, Eye Gaze communication device, and body language.

You will be required to provide complex care and personal care to our client, including:

  • Induction Training
  • Safeguarding Adults
  • Health and Safety
  • First Aid
  • Food Hygiene
  • Tracheostomy Care / Suction
  • Oral Suction
  • Moving & Handling with Hoist
  • Medication Care Needs via PEG
  • Gastrostomy

You will be trained to CQC standards to meet the needs of the client. If you are already known to the client and have care experience, this will be valued.

Requirements

The essential requirements for this role are:

  • An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this vacancy (expense to be met by Home Care Direct)
  • Driver with a full UK driving licence
  • Complex care experience
  • Prepared to commit to long-term care for one client in a person-centred way
  • Willing to be trained to CQC standards to meet the client s needs
  • Respect Company policies and procedures
  • Be reliable / non-judgemental / caring / responsible / compassionate
  • Committed to confidentiality and to treat the client with dignity and respect
