Learning Support Assistant

Job Role:


As an experienced Teaching Assistant, you will be working with small classes on a 1-2-1 and group basis, assisting the class teacher in ensuring that the needs of children are met.


Responsibilities:



  • Supporting children with special educational needs
  • Working with a team of Teaching Assistants and Classroom Assistants to plan group activities and support children's needs
  • Providing 1-2-1 assistance/intervention for children who are struggling in class
  • Making learning fun and engaging for pupils
  • Supporting an experienced class teacher in delivering lessons and managing behaviours where required

Requirements:



  • You must hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant/Classroom Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 months experience supporting children with special educational needs
  • A Valid DBS that is on the update service, or be willing to get one
  • Understanding of the Classroom Assistant/Teaching Assistant role
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
