About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Education Support Specialist Tutor to join our team at Beacon Support Ltd. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) in their academic journey.
Key Responsibilities:- To work one-to-one with Higher Education students who have ASC, providing tailored support to help them develop effective learning strategies and overcome memory, organisational, attention, and numeracy difficulties.
- To act as a facilitator, helping students to set and achieve Individual Learning Plans, and promoting independence and confidence in their learning abilities.
- To maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to stakeholders.
- A teaching qualification, preferably with a focus on special educational needs.
- Completion of NAS 6 modules and NADP Working Effectively with Autistic University Students course.
- A relevant degree, Postgraduate Certificate, or Master's degree in Autism or Disability Studies.
- Proven experience of working with students with ASC on a one-to-one basis.
- Excellent knowledge of assistive technologies and study skills strategies.
- Awareness of the strengths that students with ASC can bring to a learning situation.
- A competitive salary of £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- A dynamic Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme to support your professional growth.
- Flexible working hours to accommodate the needs of our students.
