About the Role

This role involves providing academic support to students who require additional help with core subjects, particularly Maths and English. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other stakeholders. They will also have a high level of patience, empathy, and understanding, with the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students.

Responsibilities
  • Support students with their socio-emotional engagement with learning and promote independence in a safe environment.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for each student.
  • Promote the inclusion of all students, so that all have equal opportunities to feel included and to contribute to school life.
  • Support class teachers to create a supportive and relaxed working environment that makes students feel happy and secure.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • High level of patience, empathy, and understanding
