Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at Active Care Group. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders for patients with acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injury, severe neurological conditions, complex stroke, and spinal cord injury.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders
- Devise evidence-led therapy programmes for patients at a specialist level, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary working to achieve the best outcomes for our patients
- Maintain high standards of clinical care in line with national guidance for excellence
- Named Therapist duties to ensure cohesive goal-setting and therapy and coordinating discharge
- Develop your skills in clinical supervision and informal mentoring of Speech and Language Therapy assistants and students
- Participate in internal training (induction, mandatory training, MDT in-service)
- Ensure all relevant codes of practice and regulations are upheld
- Participate in service delivery audit and quality improvement initiatives
- Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights
- HCPC registration
- Previous experience of working in a neurorehabilitation setting
- Experience in working with aphasia, cognitive communication disorder, dysarthria, apraxia, and dysphagia is essential
- Specialist level dysphagia competency on RCSLT framework
- Ability to motivate patients over long periods
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
