Speech and Language Therapist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injury, severe neurological conditions, complex stroke, and spinal cord injury.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage communication and swallowing disorders in patients
  • Develop evidence-led therapy programmes for patients at a specialist level, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary working
  • Maintain high standards of clinical care in line with national guidance for excellence
  • Named Therapist duties to ensure cohesive goal-setting and therapy and coordinating discharge
  • Develop skills in clinical supervision and informal mentoring of Speech and Language Therapy assistants and students
  • Participate in internal training and quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure all relevant codes of practice and regulations are upheld
Requirements:
  • HCPC registration
  • Previous experience of working in a neurorehabilitation setting
  • Experience in working with aphasia, cognitive communication disorder, dysarthria, apraxia, and dysphagia is essential
  • Specialist level dysphagia competency on RCSLT framework
  • Ability to motivate patients over long periods
