About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders, devising evidence-led therapy programmes, and maintaining high standards of clinical care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders
  • Devise evidence-led therapy programmes for patients at a specialist level
  • Maintain high standards of clinical care in line with national guidance for excellence
  • Named Therapist duties to ensure cohesive goal-setting and therapy and coordinating discharge
  • Develop your skills in clinical supervision and informal mentoring of Speech and Language Therapy assistants and students

Person Specification

  • HCPC registration
  • Specialist level dysphagia competency on RCSLT framework
  • Previous experience of working in a neurorehabilitation setting
  • Experience in working with aphasia, cognitive communication disorder, dysarthria, apraxia, and dysphagia is essential
