Main Responsibilities:

As a Senior Residential Childcare Support Worker at Dove Adolescent Services, you will be responsible for maintaining a homely environment by completing key domestic duties on a day-to-day basis. You will also encourage the development of individual interests and attitudes by planning, organising and participating in activities. Additionally, you will promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person in accordance with Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018. You will assess individual needs and contribute to care and risk plans, establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with the young people, and manage behaviour positively and assertively by working in line with specified care and risk management plans. You will also consult with young people to promote the development of a healthy lifestyle, motivate and assist young people in developing and sustaining positive networks with adults and peer groups, including families, and participate in the development, implementation and review of packages of care through team meetings, supervisions. You will attend, and where necessary advocate for the Young Person, in child care reviews.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or Equivalent, and an understanding and commitment to the role, which is 24/7, including weekends and bank holidays. You will also need to undertake sleep-in duties as part of a flexible rota. Experience of supporting young people who may be vulnerable is essential, as is the ability to work on your own initiative to a high level of accuracy, maintain clear, neat records, and have good inter-personal skills, and be a positive team player. You will also need to have computer experience to an intermediate level, the ability to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy, an empathetic nature, good oral and written communication skills in a variety of contexts, and the ability to engage, motivate and encourage young people.

As a Senior Residential Childcare Support Worker at Dove Adolescent Services, you will receive a pay increase after a successful probation period, performance linked benefits and bonus, additional pay for Bank Holidays, a short notice sickness cover bonus of £30, sleep in allowance of £45 per night, average sleeps ins 8-10 per month on a full time contract, free meals whilst on shift, a flexible working schedule, annual leave loyalty scheme, annual bonus reward to recognise loyalty and commitment, and a company contributory pension scheme offered after a qualifying period. You will also receive 20 days plus Bank Holidays, rising to 25 days with continuous employment of 5 years.
