Job Summary

SWAAY is seeking an experienced and dedicated Head of Residential Services to oversee the development and provision of our residential service. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Registered Home Managers, developing policies and strategies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and management.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct performance appraisals, probationary reviews, and supervisions with Home Managers
Provide support and guidance to Home Managers on Ofsted-related matters, including inspections and notifications
Remain informed of current and new legislation and regulations, communicating this within the residential service
Lead and promote a robust safeguarding culture across the organisation
Be actively involved in the referrals process for young people at SWAAY

Requirements

Level 5 Leadership & Management in Residential Care and recognised childcare qualification
Previous experience in a managerial role within a children's residential setting
Strong knowledge of the Children's Home Regulations and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023)
Proven record of delivering high-quality care and management
High-level problem-solving and decision-making skills
Knowledge and experience of trauma-informed care and therapeutic models
Commitment to promoting equality and inclusive environments
