Job Title: Part-Time Professor

At Durham College, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-Time Professor to join our team. As a Part-Time Professor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our School of Science, Engineering and Information Technology.

About the Role:
  • Teach and assess students in a variety of courses, including Building Information Modelling I: Drafting and Drawings.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the college's academic standards and industry needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives to promote student success and engagement.
Requirements:
  • A relevant degree combined with industry credentials (PhD is an asset).
  • A minimum of five years of recent (within the past three years) and relevant work experience.
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level with a demonstrated understanding and application of Universal Design for Learning and current assessment methodologies.
  • Experience participating in industry-led or community-based applied research is an asset.
  • Demonstrated use of current technologies to support student learning and the management of grades.
  • Proven track-record of life-long learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including students, faculty, support staff, administrators and community stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the Ontario college system.
