Checkout Manager Opportunity at Moriarty's SuperValu Balbriggan

We are seeking an experienced Checkout Manager to join our team on a part-time basis in our Balbriggan store. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of our checkout department, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient processing of transactions.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of up to 8-10 staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and efficient processing of transactions.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the checkout department, including rostering, queue management, and departmental housekeeping duties.
  • Ensure all staff have the necessary tools and training to complete their roles effectively.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer queries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with the store manager to achieve business objectives and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a checkout manager or supervisor in a busy retail grocery environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
  • Fluency in the English language, both written and spoken.
