We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Thorlabs. As a key member of our Quality department, you will be responsible for ensuring the high level of quality maintained throughout our manufacturing process. This includes incoming inspection of components, outgoing inspection of finished goods, and Quality and RMA administrative tasks. You will work closely with all departments on continuous improvement initiatives based on data collected from supplier and customer issues.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Providing measurement services to ensure compliance to dimensional and visual specification of components (incoming) and assemblies at all stages of manufacture
  • Operating all manual measuring equipment within the metrology area
  • Liaising with the production team leaders where outgoing inspection faults are identified
  • Escalating repeated quality process related concerns to Quality Engineering team for root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions


Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have a good understanding of metrology, previous use of measuring tools and equipment, and an understanding of software and measurement systems. Additionally, you should be detail-oriented, able to interpret technical drawings and documentation, computer literate with experience using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and able to multitask, time manage, and work independently.

Salary and Benefits
In addition to a competitive salary (£38,000 - £42,000 per annum), you will receive an excellent benefits package including pension, healthcare, and 25 days holiday plus public holidays.
