Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to provide excellent pharmaceutical services at St Mary's Surgery. The ideal candidate will have experience in either a community pharmacy or primary care setting and be qualified and registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.

Main Duties

  • Direct work with patients, including supporting safe medication use, repeat prescription reconciliations, and leading Level 1 medication reviews.
  • Liaison with Practice colleagues and partner organisations, including care homes, CCG Medicines Optimisation Teams and local Pharmacies.
  • Supporting safe systems of working, including leading audits, communicating safety alerts and formulary changes.
  • Supporting delivery of contract requirements, including DES contract and QOF targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with our Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Techs, GPs and other Practice staff to support safe, effective and efficient prescribing within the Practices.
  • Direct work with patients, including supporting safe medication use, repeat prescription reconciliations, and leading Level 1 medication reviews.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Managing patient medication.
  • Using IT systems to record, analyse and communicate information accurately.

Desirable

  • More than three years experience working within Primary Care.
  • Using the SystmOne clinical system.

Essential Criteria

  • Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
  • Satisfactory employment references.

Qualifications

  • GCSE or equivalent in both Maths and English at Grade C or above.
  • Appropriately qualified and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
