About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Marine Ecologist Lead to join our dynamic team at AECOM. As a key member of our marine ecology team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-profile marine projects across the UK and Ireland.

In this exciting opportunity, you will lead a team of specialized marine ecologists, working closely with our marine EIA colleagues to develop and grow our portfolio of marine projects. You will be responsible for managing, growing, and developing the marine ecology team, while providing technical marine ecological and consenting advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise on marine ecology impact assessments, including ES chapters and associated assessments;
  • Lead the development of high-quality deliverables, ensuring compliance with quality management procedures;
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve environmental outcomes of projects;
  • Manage resources and budgets effectively, reporting progress to clients and stakeholders;
  • Mentor and train junior team members to develop their skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Comprehensive marine ecological expertise, with experience in specialist technical chapters and impact assessments;
  • Detailed understanding of marine consenting and licensing regimes across the UK, with experience liaising with regulatory bodies;
  • Ability to provide technical advice and apply advanced scientific practices, theories, and technologies for marine projects;
  • Team leadership experience, including line management and mentorship of junior team members.
