We are seeking a highly skilled palliative nurse consultant to join our Specialist Palliative Care Team at Northampton General Hospital.

You will be responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care, supporting staff development, and advancing your specialist palliative care career within a dynamic team environment.

The role involves:

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborative working with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care.
  • Facilitating effective patient management and promoting the Five Priorities of Care.
  • Supporting staff development through training and education.
  • Managing a caseload of patients with complex needs.
  • Contributing to patient assessment and care planning decisions.
  • Prescribing and reviewing medication as a non-medical prescriber.
  • Developing and implementing advanced nursing practices.
  • Providing Level 2 psychological support for patients and their carers.
  • Sharing specialist expertise with healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in palliative and end-of-life care.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current statutory frameworks and national policies.
  • Evidence of holistically assessing patients in an acute hospital setting.
  • Audit participation or leadership experience.

Salary: approximately £43,041 - £69,756 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.
