About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Sanctuary Group. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for undertaking site repairs and maintenance duties efficiently to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking site repairs and maintenance duties efficiently to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Identifying potential maintenance issues and liaising with any necessary specialists or contractors.
  • Carrying out planned routine works such as decorating.
  • Assisting in scheduled building checks and audits, ensuring safe and secure environments.
  • Occasional gardening duties.
  • Serving as point of contact for contractors who are on site.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a maintenance or caretaker background is essential.
  • Prior experience identifying and carrying out repairs.
  • Experience in manual handling and operating hand tools and light machinery. Ability to safely use various handheld and power tool devices.
  • Good customer service and communication skills with tenants, and the external care provider.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team to work independently and as part of the wider team.
  • Working knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.
  • Maintain and review support and training so that maintenance and compliance filling system is up to date.
  • Computer literate in basic Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Occasional travel may be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is desirable.
