About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Appointed Person to join our Health and Safety Team on the HS2 project. As an Appointed Person, you will be responsible for the management, organisation, planning and control of all aspects of a lifting operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating Lift Plans and issuing them to the relevant appointed person, ensuring all lift plans are in place.
  • Managing and coordinating all aspects of a lifting operation, including planning, organisation, and control.
  • Ensuring all Appointed Persons under their control have clearly defined roles, interfaces, levels of authority and areas of responsibility within the project.
  • Appointing Appointed Persons in writing, having had their competence checked.
  • Mentoring and supporting Appointed Persons, including newly qualified or less experienced individuals.
  • Providing feedback and addressing issues raised by Appointed Persons.
  • Briefing the Lift Supervisor and other team members on the contents, scope and limits of the Lift Plan.
