Job Summary

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Cellular Pathology department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the diagnostic service by handling, preparing, and tracking samples, as well as providing consultant support during specimen dissection.

Main Duties

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will work under the supervision of Biomedical Scientists and a MLA team leader to perform a range of tasks, including sample handling, preparation, and tracking, patient data entry, and maintaining equipment.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with literacy and numeracy skills to at least GCSE or equivalent level, as well as experience of dealing with sensitive information. Previous laboratory or NHS experience is desirable, and the ability to work both individually and as part of a team is essential.
