Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ICT Support Officer to join our dynamic team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. As a key member of our Informatics service, you will play a crucial role in delivering and supporting ICT solutions that make a difference to our users.

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior ICT Support Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing, investigating, and resolving user problems, some of which may be complex, and discussing options for resolution with ICT colleagues and senior managers.
  • Training users and support staff on software solutions, both in a classroom and desk-side setting.
  • Maintaining and managing all training activities, including coordination, planning, and strategy.
  • Working with the implementation team to provide communication of training information to Informatics staff and wider BCU staff as appropriate.
  • Assisting the ICT Systems Support Management Team to ensure the systems within their remit are run efficiently and effectively, and that appropriate disaster recovery plans are in place.
  • Contributing to the specification and delivery support of informatics projects for local and national ICT initiatives.
  • Providing onsite floor walking support to end users across BCU for any ICT-related issues or training requirements.
Essential Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following essential criteria:

  • Be educated to degree level or have equivalent level of work experience and knowledge.
  • Have experience of working in a large and complex organization.
  • Have experience in the support and training of software solutions.
  • Have participated in change management projects and process re-engineering.
  • Have knowledge of clinical, management, and information processes.
  • Have knowledge and appreciation of the capabilities and limitations of IT.
