Cranleigh STEM, Sustainability & SHEQ Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join its R&D team. As a Process Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and developing new technology for the manufacturing site, ensuring it meets safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop existing manufacturing processes and introduce new technology to the factory, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs and enhance product quality.
  • Drive innovation and technology development, ensuring best practices are adopted throughout the organization.
  • Deliver projects within budget, scope, and safety requirements.
  • Design, develop, and industrialize new and existing manufacturing technologies from various stages of the technology readiness level (TRL) scale.
  • Implement process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, and ensure safety.
  • NPD introduction to the factory and optimization of the process.
  • Promote a safety-first culture based on human relations and develop individuals through effective coaching.

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Strong experience with 3-D CAD (SolidWorks) and 2-D (AutoCAD) design, modifying production equipment, and bespoke machinery for manufacture.
  • Proven Process Engineering/Manufacturing experience.
  • Computer literacy, proficient in statistical software, and Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills at all organizational levels.
  • Experience delivering engineering projects.
  • Experience with data-driven problem-solving.
  • Process risk and hazard assessment tools, such as PFMEA, FMEA, and HAZOP.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, including Six Sigma and Kaizen.
