Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll & Pensions Manager to join our team at Portfolio Payroll Limited. As a key member of our payroll team, you will be responsible for overseeing a large monthly payroll of over 15,000 employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a full start-to-finish payroll process using ESR software, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure all statutory deductions are made accurately and submitted to the HMRC.
  • Manage all year-end processes, including P11Ds.
  • Support the Head of Payroll & Pensions in managing a large payroll team of over 30 employees.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct regular appraisals and one-to-one meetings to ensure team members are meeting performance expectations.
  • Recruit and onboard new team members to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Lead payroll projects and initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working in the NHS sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of ESR payroll software.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
